What countries use the Thai Baht?
What countries use the Thai Baht?
The inviting beaches have attracted both locals and tourists to the islands for many years, and with good reason. It’s no surprise, especially as an average of 400,000 British tourists make their way to Thailand every year.
If you’re planning on holidaying to the land of smiles, you can buy Thai Baht online from us.
Thailand’s award-winning resorts, eclectic nightlife, and impressive landmarks are only a grain in the sand of its many unique experiences. The Southeast Asian country has long inspired travellers to write, paint and sing about its tropical wonders.
Once you’re back from your holiday to Thailand, you can sell back any of your leftover Thai Baht banknotes. Exchanging foreign currency to pounds can only be made in-store, so just visit your local John Lewis Bureau de Change with a valid form of ID.
If your trip to Thailand has been cancelled, you can return your Baht for a full refund within 35 days of the purchase date. Make sure you have your original order receipt or order confirmation when you make the return. Please note returns and buybacks can only be made in-store.
Thailand is the only country in the world that uses Thai Baht. If you’re planning on travelling to neighbouring countries the official currency they use are:
Vietnam: Vietnamese Dong
Malaysia: Malaysian Ringgit
Singapore: Singapore Dollar
The currencies listed above are available to order online on John Lewis Money. You can order multiple currencies all in one go if you’re looking to travel to multiple countries in one holiday.
Exchange rates online may vary from those offered in-store.
You can check today’s online rates on our main currency page. Today’s in-store buy and sell rates can be found on the Bureau de Change store locator.
We sell Thai Baht in select John Lewis Bureaux de Change, so if your local Bureau de Change does not sell Thai Baht, they'll be available to order online on the John Lewis Money website.
For online orders, you can buy between £250 to £2,500 worth of Thai Baht. Please note, when travelling with Thai Baht in cash, you can only carry no more than 500,000THB into and out of the country.
