Which countries use the US Dollar?
Whether you’re taking the family to the Big Apple or you’re living out your country star dreams down South - no matter where you are flying to, a holiday to America requires a lot of planning. We can help tick off that one thing on your USA to-do list when you order US Dollars online from us.
When you’ve made it back home safely, you can sell any US Dollar notes you have left and we’ll exchange them back into pounds. Just stop by a John Lewis Bureau de Change branch with your ID and US Dollars.
If your American holiday had to be cancelled, you can return your US Dollars for a full refund within 35 days of the purchase date. Bring your original order receipt or order confirmation with you.
Returns can only be made in-store.
The US Dollar is the official currency used in all 50 states in the United States of America. US Dollars are also used in US territories:
Puerto Rico
The U.S. Virgin Islands
Guam
The Northern Mariana Islands
American Samoa
The US Dollar can also be used as official payment in the following countries:
Ecuador
El Salvador
The Marshall Islands
Micronesia
Palau
East Timor
Zimbabwe
When exchanging pounds for USD, we’ll only be able to offer you notes. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to accept coins if you do decide to sell your leftover US Dollars and other currency.
Exchange rates in-store may vary from those offered online. You can use our rate table to check today's online rates, and today’s in-store buy and sell rates on the bureau de change store locator.
For online orders, you can buy between £250 to £2,500 worth of US Dollars. If you’re travelling to the US, you must declare cash that exceeds $10,000 when entering the American border.
