Is car insurance cheaper for over 50s?

It’s possible that car insurance could be cheaper once you pass the age of fifty. Many factors are considered when insurers calculate premiums - and this does include age. If you have been driving for numerous years without making a claim, the cost of your policy could be reduced.

However, it’s important to be aware that other factors like high mileage or car modifications can still increase your premiums, regardless of experience or no claims.

Optional add-ons

We offer different add-ons to help you customise your insurance to better meet your needs.

If you have four or more years of no claims bonus you can opt to protect it so you can make a claim without losing all of your bonus.

If you’ve been in an accident that wasn’t your fault you can claim up to £100,000 towards legal costs and expenses.

An option of four tiers of cover provided by the RAC to help you get back on the road when you need it.
